Tragedy struck this Friday afternoon as a 30-year-old man lost his life while working as a stagehand during the dismantling of the stage used by the band Iron Maiden in their recent concerts at the National Stadium in the district of Ñuñoa.
Preliminary information indicates that the victim, who belonged to an external company hired for the job, fell from a height of approximately 14 meters while dismantling one of the stage towers.
The production company DG Medios, responsible for organizing the concert, released a statement stating that “Due to circumstances currently under investigation by relevant authorities, an accident occurred during the dismantling process of one of the stage towers, resulting in the unfortunate death of one of the workers on site.”
They also mentioned that their priority is to cooperate with the investigation and provide support to the worker’s family.
The Health Seremi, along with other relevant agencies, will lead the investigation to determine if there were any negligences or safety failures that may have contributed to the accident.
